Everyone bow for King Sam!

Sam was crowned Jr. Prom King. He wore a shash and they gave him a basket full of goodies! The morning of Prom the Jr. Class Advisor called me and asked if Sam was going to the prom. He had just told me the night before that he decided to go so I told her yes. She said, "Good! The votes are in and Sam was voted King by a landslide vote. And then she asked me if he had ordered flowers for him and his date. I said no. Then she asked me what color Chelsea's dress was and at the time I didn't know. I said I can call her mom and she said no, I can do that. WOW! The benefits of living in a VERY small town. What a great bunch of kids at Piute High School and some great teachers! Sam has also joined the track team so we are looking forward to seeing him participate in that.

Junior Prom, 2009

This is Sam's first official date. He went to Prom with a girl named Chelsea. She is a senior and was very persistant in getting Sam to go to Prom with her. They went as friends. I'm glad Sam went. He said he was happy he went too. The Prom is a 2 week experience here in small town Utah. They spend 2 weeks decorating the gym, practicing the promanade dance, etc. The day of prom starts around 8:00 am. They go and do fun activities during the day and then the dance at night. Parents and families are invited and encourage to go. They annouce each junior student with their name and names of their parents, similar to a "debutante ball" The girls are escorted across the bridge. Sam was one of the "helpers" to lend a hand to the girls as they cross the bridge. They have more boys than girls in the Junior class of 35 students! After the presentation of the students they have a promanade dance. I tried taking pictures but it was too dark and Sam wasn't dancing...again more boys than girls. He wasn't disappointed though! He was content to watch. Then they had a parent dance where the junior students dances with their mother/father. It was so much fun. Talk about Prom flashback! I wasn't going to let Sam wear his orange Texas Longhorn tie but he told me Chelsea's dress was orange so he got to wear it. He was too late to get a tux so he just wore his suit.

Me and Sam after our dance.

Happy Birthday, LIndsey

Lindsey turned 5! I can't believe my baby is 5 years old. I tease her that she needs to stay little forever because mommy doesn't have any more babies! We were in the store the other day shopping near the baby clothes. She kept bringing me cute little outfits and said, "These clothes would be really cute if I had a baby sister." We had a birthday party/goodbye party with her friends is Texas that was actually before her birthday. These pictures are on her actual birthday with presents from Grandma and her uncles. I think I forgot to post pictures of the other birthday and now they are on my computer in Texas.

Boys...start your engines

Pinewood Derby cars! I love the derby. It's so much fun to watch the boys and how excited they get. This is Braeden's first derby. He was so excited but sad that his dad missed it. His uncles were there is proxy. I found out before we left Texas when the derby was so Steve and Braeden worked on his car before we left. He missed being grand-champion by less than a 1/4 of an inch!

Zoe, the Snow Bunny

Zoe does not like the cold. The first day that it was really cold she refused to go outside and "do her duty." She would run back to her crate and there she stayed. Finally, around 6:00pm she gave in and went outside for about 2 seconds and "relieved" herself and then back in the house. I bought her this little "parka" to see if it helped. It was a stretch for me. I don't like those "doggie sweaters" but I felt really bad for her.

"I Love Utah!"

This is the 1st snow that Lindsey has experienced. She was so excited when I told her that it had snowed in the night. She got her warm woolies on and went outside. After a few minutes she ran back in and exclaimed, "I LOVE UTAH!"

Watch out for the critters!

Braeden is helping Uncle Curt run some new cable in the "crawl space" under the house! The duct tape around his waist is to keep the dirt from going down his pants!

Lots of Monkey Business..

I saw this cute blog background. This is the way I feel in my house right now. We are busy packing to move on Saturday and I feel like everyone is swinging on the vines through the trees!
