First Snow of the Year

This is how excited my kids were that it finally snowed. Footprints from bare feet were all over outside. Living in Texas for 4 years...they forgot that snow was cold!

There was more snow on the cars than on the ground.
Chores were done by 9:00am on this Saturday....they wanted to play in the snow (before it melted). Wish it would snow everyday just so chores would get done.
Desperate attempt to make a snowman.

Lost his head....

This was his ultimate demise....poor frosty. (take notice of the awesome soccer kick form!)

Visit with Courtney/Family Home Evening

We go once per week to visit Courtney. She is residing at the Copperhills Center for Youth. We can't do a lot with her because she isn't able to leave the campus yet. We decided it would be a good opportunity to have Family Home Evening since we go on Monday nights anyway. It has been a lot of fun and I think she is enjoying it. She hasn't had the opportunity to have any affiliation with the church since she left our home 3 years ago. Since starting this she has now asked for a picture of Jesus to help her make better choices...

On this night we had pizza.

And learned about the plan of salvation.

Braeden led the music.

Steve singing "Once there was a snowman."

My little goblins

Kylie, the zombie soccer referee.

Braeden, the vampire

Lindsey, the cutest little witch.

This was the week before Halloween. A family down the street had a Halloween party and invited the kids. It was a good thing otherwise, they would not have been able to dress up at all. They were all sick with the flu on Halloween!

Lindsey loses her first tooth!

She actually swallowed it. She was so worried the tooth fairy wouldn't come. She drew a picture of her and her tooth and we wrote a letter to the tooth fairy explaining the situation. He understood and left her some money. (The tooth fairy is a boy in our house).

My Harvest

Okay....so I didn't grow any of it. I bought the tomatoes and peaches at the famous fruit way in Brigham City (Perry, UT). I love to bottle! I did this all in 4 days! Really long days. I am thankful to my mother-in-law for teaching me how many, many years ago! She was a remarkable lady. She's been gone almost 8 years I think...

MTC day

Me & Charity...get in the car already!

Steve & Charity.

Charity, Kylie, Braeden & Lindsey

Charity & Grandma Bagley

All of us in front of the Provo Temple...across the street from the MTC. We arrived a little early. They have drive by drop-offs at the MTC now. No time for picture taking or even long goodbyes.

Charity's journey to the mission field

Charity's big day at the Manti Temple.

Charity with the Stake Presidency....the other one is taking the photo. The night she was set apart as a full time missionary by President Edwards of the Saratoga Springs South Stake President.

Sister Charity Brown - 10/27/09

This is the "welcome" dinner at the mission home after being picked up from the airport.

Meeting her new companion for the first time.

Charity & her companion with the mission president and his wife, President and Sister Pendleton. I think they are from West Jordan. (looks like she found her name tag...I bet she was reminded that she needed to have it on!) Okay...too funny. Upon close inspection of this picture...Charity has a name tag that says Sister Pendleton! Don't know where hers are, maybe in her suitcase!)

New companion.

She made it! Airport Arrival - 10/27/2009

Just got off the plane in California. Where is your name tag Sister Brown? The group photos are all the missionaries arriving in the Roseville, CA mission today.

What's with the stack of luggage in the background?

Sad, Sad Halloween

All the kids are sick today. It's usually only one kid that is sick on Halloween. My brother sent me this photo of Sam in his costume. He is a big teddy bear. It was a big hit with all the girls!

Piute Boys' Cross Country - 2009 State Champs!

This was the picture and caption in the Richfield Reaper. Sam is on the front row in the red shirt. He worked really hard during the season and consistantly improved his personal best time. Congratulations, Sam and the rest of the team!

Piute High School’s cross country team earned a state championship Oct. 21, in Salt Lake City. The team had 16 boys on it, with the top five providing scoring points and the top seven being allowed to run in the meet.

Conversation with Lindsey

I was looking through a catalog last night. It is from a company called the Vermont Country Store. It's kind of a cool store. It has things from years gone buy that are hard to find. I was commenting on items that I remember from when I was a kid and it might be fun to order some things.

Lindsey said, "Mom, just go to Walmart. They have EVERYTHING you need!" (No doubt that is what the Walmart commercial says.)
Then Kylie said, "They don't have everything...they don't have pianos."

Lindsey replied, "We don't need a piano, we already have one!"

Kylie, "They don't have houses."

Lindsey, "Uh huh...doll houses."

I love 5 year olds. I told Steve I was going to miss her...when she grows up!

Patches

My mom is famous in Grass Valley for her patches. She NEVER throws anything away. Her kids and now her grandkids all sport these very fashionable patched levis throughout the summer. She still patches Curt & Clay's pants.

4th of July

We are sitting in the back of the Suburban getting ready for the Koosharem 4th of July parade to start. We were supposed to have a float for the kids to ride on but Steve didn't get to come down from SLC to help us celebrate. He was having a swine flu party:(

A Style all his own

Cute, Cute, Cute...

These 2 little girls remind me of 2 other little girls many years ago...(Keirstin & Ashley) This is Lindsey and her cousin, Bella.

Aunt June

My Aunt June always has the greatest floats. Although this one brings to mind uncle Jed and the rest of the Clampets...

Koosharem Parade

This float was for the vetern's of Grass Valley to ride on. They had a nice program in the morning before the parade to honor all the vetern's from Grass Valley.
